Data Deletion

MedCrypt (also known as MedVault or HealthCrypt) is a practice-management platform used by doctors and clinics to manage their patients and to send appointment reminders, prescriptions, bills, and health information — including over WhatsApp. This page explains how you can request that your data be deleted from MedCrypt, whether you are a doctor who uses the platform or a patient who has received a message from a clinic that uses it.

For doctors and clinics (account holders)

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data yourself, at any time, from inside the app:

1. Sign in to your MedCrypt account.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Open the Delete Account section.
4. Re-enter your password and type DELETE MY ACCOUNT to confirm.

This permanently removes your account, your patient records, your messaging history, your uploaded files, and your billing profile from our active systems.

If you would like a copy of your data first, use the Export Data option in the app to download your records before deleting. If you are unable to sign in, email us at medcryptsoftware@gmail.com from your registered email address and we will process the deletion for you.

For patients and message recipients

If you received a message from a clinic through MedCrypt (for example, an appointment reminder or prescription on WhatsApp) and you would like your data deleted, you have two options:

• Ask your clinic. Your clinic is the holder of your records and can delete your details directly from their MedCrypt account.
• Email us directly at medcryptsoftware@gmail.com with the phone number or name the messages were sent to. We will locate the associated data and delete it.

To reply to or report a WhatsApp message you can also message STOP back to the sender to stop further messages while your deletion request is processed.

What we delete and how long it takes

When you delete your account from inside the app, the removal is immediate. For deletion requests sent by email, we will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Please note that we may be required to retain certain information for longer where the law requires it — for example, medical records and financial records that healthcare and tax regulations require us to keep for a defined period. In those cases we restrict the data so it is no longer used for any other purpose and delete it once the legal retention period ends.
